Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2024 Review

A bounty of brand-new releases

While boat shows are often judged by quantity, it was the overall quality of the glossy new offerings at Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 2024 that really stood out.

Of the 700-plus boats and countless marine products, more than 100 were making their global, regional or national debut. Tales abounded of exhibitors working overtime to have stock there, and pricing was equally keen.

Notables in the luxury yacht segment included the CLB65, which has a heritage stemming from Hong Kong’s Choy Lee. Multihull enthusiasts got an exclusive look at the Prestige M48, along with the new Cora Cat 48.

Special mention should go to the first Hanse 510 in the country, having been sold by Windcraft Yachts to former motor yacht owners, and YouTube creator Kristina Costalos spoke of her voyages aboard the Jeanneau Yachts 55.

Northside Marine debuted the Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895 Series 2, while Marinco had the flagship Italboats 32 GT, and IRON Boats had a display of its Swedish-designed fibreglass runabouts.

Australian plate-alloy brand Yellowfin unveiled its first new releases in six years. Called the YF-76F and YF-70, the two sister models have extended cabins that build on the success of the Southerner range. Another interesting trailable was the diesel, shaft-drive Tasman 80.

Among US releases were the Bennington 25L pontoon, Cobalt R8 Surf and Beneteau-owned Four Winns H6 Outboard.

In a show of appreciation to the Australian market, the General Manager of BRIG Inflatables, Slava Rodionov, flew from Ukraine to stand alongside his Eagle 10 and Eagle 8.

In jetskis, Sea-Doo continues to push the performance envelope with a supercharged 325hp Rotax 1630 motor that propels the RXP-X 325 and RXT-X 325. Highfield Boats and ZeroJet also released the E330 electric jet tender.

In terms of technology, Stebercraft displayed its award-winning Steber 40 Hybrid. Dockpro showed off new solutions to storing PWCs and boats out of the water. Other new products included Honda’s 350 V8 outboard and ePropulsion’s eLite 500W electric motor.
